Nacogdoches, Texas is located in the midst of the Haynesville Shale. The Haynesville Shale is a natural gas formation located in East Texas, Southwestern Arkansas and Western Louisiana that encompasses more than 9,000 square miles and is considered to be one of the largest natural gas shale formation in the United States.
