Raymond Hartfield, AT&T’s Education Industry Practice Manager, presented his Needs Assessment report for the proposed Nacogdoches Technical Training Center at NEDCO’s February 11 board meeting. The report recommends the establishment of a technical training center physically located in Nacogdoches County.

Fagen Inc., which is managing the construction process of the biomass power generation plant near Sacul, will be holding a job fair in Nacogdoches next Thursday, January 28, from 10am to 2pm. The Job Fair, in partnership with NEDCO, will be held at the Nacogdoches Workforce Center at 2103 South Street.

Southern Power, the subsidiary of Southern Company that acquires, builds, manages and owns wholesale generation assets, today took a major step in building one of the nation’s largest biomass-fueled projects with a groundbreaking ceremony in Sacul, Texas.

Southern Power has announced that it is acquiring Nacogdoches Power, LLC from American Renewables, LLC and will move ahead with construction of the planned biomass power plant in Sacul, Texas. Groundbreaking is expected in the fall of 2009 and commercial operation is projected for the summer of 2012.
